On 15 August, the Latvia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) will convene for its meeting in Riga. The meeting will be chaired by the Co-Chairmen of the Commission – Uldis Augulis, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia, and Maksim Sokolov, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The Latvia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technical, Humanitarian and Cultural Cooperation is a bilateral format for negotiating important issues of practical cooperation. The IGC has four working groups active in the areas of economic, humanitarian and regional cooperation, and transport. During the upcoming meeting, the Commission will discuss the accomplishments and opportunities for further cooperation. The previous meeting of the IGC took place on 21 November 2013 in Moscow.
On Monday, 14 August, a meeting has also been scheduled between Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis and the Co-Chairman of the IGC, the Minister of Transport of Russia, Maksim Sokolov, as well as the Russian delegation.

The meeting of the IGC will take place on Tuesday, 15 August, from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Ministry of Transport, at Gogoļa iela 3. The meeting will be followed by the signing of the protocol at 12.00, and then the Chairmen of the IGC will make a statement to the press. A photo and video opportunity.
