Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs to go on a visit to Belarus

From 18 July to 20 July, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs is to go on a working visit to Belarus. The Foreign Minister intends to meet with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Andrei Kobyakov, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, the Minister of Economy, Vladimir Zinovski, and members of civil society. The meetings will address current bilateral relations between Latvia and Belarus, the course of the EU-Belarus relationship, developments in the region and other matters of international importance.

During his visit, Edgars Rinkēvičs will also take part in events to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Latvia and Belarus: a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus for the issue of a stamp commemorating the occasion; and a book launch hosted by the Latvian Embassy in Belarus for the Belarusian language edition of “The History of Latvia” by Prof. Ilgvars Butulis and Prof. Antonijs Zunda.
