State Secretary Pildegovičs meets with the new Serbian Ambassador to Latvia

On 13 July, the State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrejs Pildegovičs, received an accreditation visit from the new Ambassador of Serbia to Latvia, H.E. Dragan Momčilović. The Ambassador resides in Stockholm, Sweden.

The State Secretary and the Ambassador discussed bilateral political and economic relations between Latvia and Serbia, Serbia’s progress in its EU accession negotiations, the development of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, and the state of affairs in the Western Balkans region.

Both officials also pledged to move forward with the political dialogue between the countries and expressed mutual interest in promoting cooperation in business, culture and education.

On 29 August, the Ambassador is to present his credentials to the President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis.

Dragan Momčilović has a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Belgrade. He began working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991 and has since held various posts at the ministry and Serbian Embassies in Belgium, France and Turkey. Dragan Momčilović has been Ambassador to China and Ethiopia.
