From 24 to 26 April, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs will go on a visit to Andorra, Spain and Portugal to exchange views with senior officials of these countries on bilateral cooperation, issues of current importance for the European Union and challenges related to security policy. The Minister will also take part in discussions on the European Union’s future held in Madrid and Lisbon.
On 24 April in Andorra, Minister Rinkēvičs will have meetings with the Foreign Minister of Andorra, Gilbert Saboya Sunyé, Prime Minister Antoni Martí and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mònica Bonell.
On 25 April in Madrid, the Latvian Foreign Minister is to meet with the Foreign Minister of Spain, Alfonso María Dastis Quecedo, and have a discussion on the EU’s future with foreign policy experts at the Elcano Royal Institute.
On 26 April in Lisbon, Edgars Rinkēvičs will talk with the Foreign Minister of Portugal, Augusto Santos Silva, and deliver an open lecture entitled “The future of Europe: the view from Riga” at the Institute for Political Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal.
