The International Week of the Deaf is celebrated annually worldwide during the last full week of September and is about gathering together and becoming united.
The theme of this year is “With Sign Language, I am Equal” and it celebrates 65 years since the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) was founded and 10 years since the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Both concerts are organised by the Latvian Embassy in the United Kingdom with the kind support of Riga City Council, The Latvian Welfare Fund and The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.
