On Wednesday, 1 June the Embassy of Latvia in the UK and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency held a business forum “Link up and grow with Northern hubs” in London.  The forum was opened with a keynote speech by Mr Arvils Ašeradens, Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia.

The aim of the forum was to inform UK businesses about the opportunities that lie in Latvia and the Baltic region. Latvia has much to offer as a hub for trade and investment not only in Northern Europe, but also beyond, as it is on a well-established route towards Central Asia and CIS countries.

Panels addressed issues such as the investment environment in the Baltic States, logistics sector opportunities and infrastructure projects. The speakers of this year’s forum were Rail Baltica CEO Baiba Rubesa , Chairman of the Board at  Riga International Airport Andris Liepins, Vice President for International Business Development at Lattelecom Zigurds Cirulis, Chairman of the Management Board of the Vitol Group Robert Kirkup , Primekss Group CEO and Molport founder Janis Oslejs and Samskip Van Dieren Multimodal CEO Henk van Dieren.

The forum was generously supported by Lattelecom, Airbaltic, Eversheds Bitāns and Rothschild.
