Ambassador of Latvia meets the Vice President of Cairo University

On 23rd of November 2017, H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Arab Republic of Egypt Ms Iveta Šulca met Prof. Amr Adly, Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research of Cairo University.

Ambassador Šulca gave a presentation on the higher education system of Latvia, emphasizing its high competitiveness. An evidence to that are increasing numbers of foreign students in Latvia. Ambassador underlined that Latvia’s products of e-learning and e-health are internationally recognized and appreciated.

Prof. Adly stressed that the international cooperation is one of Cairo University’s priorities. Cairo University is ranked 420th among the 500 leading universities according to Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities. He added that the programs of Architecture and Pharmacy are among top 50 programs worldwide.  

Ambassador Šulca and Mr Adly discussed possibilities to revitalize bilateral cooperation in higher education between Latvian institutions of higher education and Cairo University to enable the exchange of students and professors, as well as facilitate Arabic and Latvian language and culture studies in Latvia and in Egypt.
